IDS 2003 Wrap

In spite of travel concerns due to international conflict and SARS, the International Dental Show (IDS) experienced a seven percent increase in visitors — 63,000 people from 132 countries attended. With around 1,400 suppliers from 51 countries, 59 percent of them from abroad, and approx. 63,000 trade visitors from 132 countries, the already high level of the previous event was clearly exceeded.

There was unanimous praise from the exhibitors for the trade visitors’ high qualifications. This assessment by exhibitors is supported by the results of a neutral visitor survey, conducted on behalf of Koelnmesse during the fair: 88 % of the respondents are involved with procurement/ purchasing decisions, 47 % even to a decisive extent.

Around 35 % of the visitors came from dental surgeries, approx. 26 % from dental laboratories, the trade accounted for about 16 % of the specialist trade visitors.
