DIAC Announces The Change In DIAC’s Presidency

At a scheduled meeting on January 26, 2015, the Board of Directors of the Dental Industry Association of Canada (DIAC) regretfully accepted the resignation of Lisa Citton-Battel as President of the Association.

Lisa has accepted the position of Human Resources Director at 3M Canada with responsibilities across all of 3M’s product lines and facilities in Canada, We wish her well in her new responsibility and thank her for the outstanding service and commitment she has given to the dental industry for many years.

Effective immediately, David Marks CA, formerly the President-Elect of DIAC, will assume the responsibilities of President and will carry the title of Acting President until the next Annual Meeting on May 7, 2015, at which time he will commence his two year Presidency.

David Marks is the Director of Marketing, for Henry Schein Canada, responsible for all aspects of the company’s marketing programs. David joined Henry Schein Canada in 2009 through the acquisition of Confi-Dent, a full-service dental supply company based in Toronto, Ontario. A Chartered Accountant by training, David started Confi-Dent in 1992 as an infection control focused company, and quickly developed it into a successful full service dental distributor.  

Prior to founding Confi-Dent, David was engaged in various senior financial management positions, including 8 years as an Audit Partner in a professional Chartered Accountancy firm.

Lors de la réunion du 26 janvier 2015, c’est avec regret que le conseil d’administration de DIAC a accepté la démission de Lisa Citton-Battel en tant que présidente de l’Association.

Lisa a accepté le poste de directrice des Ressources humaines chez 3M Canada et sera responsable de toutes les gammes de produits 3M pour tous les emplacements canadiens. Nous lui souhaitons tout le succès possible et la remercions pour son service et son engagement exceptionnels à l’industrie pendant plusieurs années.

À compter d’aujourd’hui, David Marks CA, anciennement président désigné de DIAC, prendra les responsabilités de président et portera le titre de président par intérim jusqu’à la prochaine réunion annuelle prévue pour le 7 mai 2015, auquel moment il débutera sa présidence de deux ans.

David Marks est le directeur du Marketing chez Henry Schein Canada et est responsable de tous les aspects des programmes de marketing. Il s’est joint à Henry Schein Canada en 2009 suite à l’acquisition de Confi-Dent, une compagnie de fournitures dentaires de Toronto, Ontario. Comptable agréé de métier, David a débuté Confi-Dent en 1992, compagnie concentrée sur la prévention des infections qui est rapidement devenue un distributeur dentaire à services complets.  

Avant de fonder Confi-Dent, David a occupé plusieurs postes en gestion financière, incluant huit ans en tant qu’associé d’audit pour un bureau de comptables agréés.
