Umicore has been designated as one of “World’s Most Ethical Companies” by Ethisphere, a leading international think-tank dedicated to the advancement of best practices in business ethics, corporate social responsibility, anti-corruption and sustainability. The 2012 edition of this ranking includes a record 145 organisations. Umicore is the only Belgian company in the ranking.
According to Ethisphere the World’s Most Ethical honorees not only promote ethical business standards and practices internally, they exceed legal compliance minimums and shape future industry standards by introducing best practices today.
The ranking is based on seven key performance indicators: citizenship and responsibility; corporate governance; innovation that contributes to public wellbeing; industry leadership; internal systems and ethics compliance programme; legal, regulatory and reputation track record and executive leadership.
