Lars Spangberg is passing the baton as the Section Editor for Endodontology in Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology and Endodontology.

He is a one of the foremost endodontic educators in the world. His editorial is to my mind a cry for the return to fundamentals and biologic standards in an increasingly market driven high-tech world.  We cannot, nay we must not forget that building blocks are equally as relevant and probably more important than bells and whistles. While the topic is endodontics, the premise and concepts are ubiquitous….

We will all suffer should eminence based dentistry take precedence over evidence based dentistry……..long live the philosopher kings.
