Zimmer Dental Offers Minimally Invasive Sinus Lift Instrumentation

Zimmer Dental Launches Drill Stop Kit Zimmer Dental Inc., a leading provider of dental oral rehabilitation products and a subsidiary of Zimmer Holdings, Inc.,is pleased to announce the availability of the Sinus Crestal Approach Kit and Sinus Lateral Approach Kit for minimally invasive and streamlined sinus lift procedures. Stemming from an exclusive U.S. distribution agreement with Neobiotech Co.,Ltd, the two kits are the latest additions to Zimmer Dental’s expanding sinus lift instrumentation portfolio.

The Sinus Lateral Approach Kit offers a complete solution for accessing the sinus via opening the lateral wall. The result is minimal flap size and a smaller window than conventional techniques. The Sinus Lateral Approach Kit’s reamers can be used with a standard surgical motor handpiece (2,000rpm) for an expedient osteotomy. The tapered trunk on the kit’s LS-reamer is designed to control drilling depth up to 3.5mm without the use of drill stops, and the special blade design creates a thin bone disc which protects the Schneiderian membrane. In addition, the C-reamer can be used to cut through the lateral wall and save a piece of circular bone that can be used to close the opening after the procedure.

Zimmer Dental Launches Drill Stop Kit Like the Sinus Lateral Approach Kit, Sinus Crestal Approach Kit offers a minimally invasive option for sinus lift procedures. The unique drill design of the Sinus Crestal Approach Kit’s S-reamer head (800-1200rpm) also leaves a thin bone disk between the Schneiderian membrane and the reamer for optimum protection, and it can be used in misaligned and septum cases. Furthermore, an assortment of stoppers control the drilling depth of the S-reamer from 2mm to 11mm, and the stoppers can be mounted on the bone spreader and inserter, thus making the kit a complete solution for performing a crestal sinus lift.

For decades, Zimmer Dental has gained the trust of thousands of clinicians worldwide who count on its comprehensive line of scientifically-proven products to deliver successful patient outcomes and the best value in the industry. Materialise Dental launches the Dual Scan Package

The Dual Scan Package consists of the Dual Scan Module and a number of sample products to prepare patients for swift esthetic and prosthetic driven computer guided surgery. The main goal is to offer SimPlant® users an integrated solution for prosthetic driven planning, to be completed in-house and in just one visit.

Dual Scan Module
The Dual Scan Module automatically loads the prosthetic information into SimPlant® allowing clinicians to plan implants even more accurately.

The Dual Scan Module is available for SimPlant® Pro and SimPlant® Master. It provides for a quick and inexpensive procedure for all implant cases when an existing prosthesis is available. No need for a special lab-made template. It is sufficient to insert 8 equally distributed Dual Scan Markers available from Materialise Dental into an existing prosthesis free of metal.
With the Dual Scan Module, two scans are taken: one scan of the patient wearing the prosthesis and a bite index, and one scan of the prosthesis. The Dual Scan Module is ideally suited for cone-beam 3D scanners from a practical point of view, but can of course also be applied when using CT scanning equipment.
