Health Mission Outreach

Health Mission Outreach, founded in 2009, is a registered Canadian non-profit medical/dental outreach organization consisting of licensed health care professionals and general volunteers. The organization was created in response to the overwhelming need to serve those without equal access to dental and medical care. They provide heath care to the disadvantaged: those who are deprived of basic care due to politics, geographical terrain and other adversities. The volunteers come from a variety of disciplines including dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, chiropractors, general medical practitioners and more. The organization serves many communities locally within the Greater Toronto Area, nationally across Canada and countries overseas.

Due to lack of funding, it is difficult to promote the organization. Their most effective mode of promotion is by word of mouth. Business cards, flyers, social media and their website were donated to help with promotion.

HMO is an organization that has no paid employees, strictly running on volunteer support and 100 percent of all donations are used for materials and equipment to serve the public.

If you would like to become a volunteer with Health Mission Outreach, simply visit the website and register. There are two streams for volunteers to apply for. The first stream is the dental and medical professional volunteers who provide proof of their designation in good standing to operate within their scope of practice. The second stream is general volunteers who facilitate patient registration, logistics and support for the dental and medical professionals.
