Apple’s latest keyboard idea was published today by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The concept aims to use proximity sensors that will enhance tactile feedback from keystrokes which will, in turn, enhance user experience. The filing was entitled: “Input Devices and Methods of Operation“.
Wow that is crazy. I wonder if these ever got implemented into their keyboards or if it was just an idea they never truly implemented. I found in this article https://www.derf.com/an-overview-on-proximity-sensors/ that apple is using proximity sensors in there iPhones for facial recognition and to protect the phones when someone drops them. It is amazing what they are able to do with new tech… If anyone knows of any other resources to learn about proximity sensors that would awesome ! They are fascinating.
