Thank G-d for the Internet

Back in /09 – you remember /09 – end of the world was imminent, I saw a gorgeous little lassie who had been hit in the face in the schoolyard and had her left central incisor intruded and lingually malposed.  She was in terror that the tooth would be lost.  She’s been in treatment/monitored since that time, revascularization/regeneration procedure and constant assessment and she was just in today for a reassessment. Still waiting for reduction in the size of the lumen of the canal space – yadda and yadda……but the key to this entry was showing her a mixed dentition video from YOU TUBE. She was in awe, smiled from ear to ear and it was probably the most rewarding experience of the week.  Sent the link to “her email” at home and she was going to share this with all her friends…………there is a potential and power in the use of visual media that simply cannot be appreciated using much of the two dimensional material we use to explain – graphics, flat field radiographs anon……….our patients are three dimensional. They deserve three dimensional analysis and education.
