When you get to the fork in the road, take it REDUX….

Before you read this little piece, please visit – https://public.me.com/ken.serota160 and look for

1A.Endodontic Topics 2005 10 77–102 2005 HAAPASALO.pdf – it’s the followup to /endodontics/when-you-get-to-the-fork-in-the-road-take-it

or for that matter review the following

Suboptimal Debridement Quality Produced by the Single-file F2 Protaper Technique in Oval-shaped Canals – http://www.jendodon.com/article/S0099-2399(10)00667-9/abstract

– at the very least, the first of this series of articles – sans the redux, was the starting point for what should become a review on irrigation.  While I wait on PIPS to determine whether it will be the answer to a prayer in regard to the primary source of endodontic success, I wanted to see if it were possible to bring this blog entry to the attention of Markus Haapasalo and Jeff Coil who run the post doc endo program at dental school at the University of British Columbia. Not asking these lads to post a researched tome on irrigation, but I’d donate a kidney to see a few paragraphs from these CANADIAN BASED EDUCATORS to comment on the current status of improving the state of endodontic treatment outcomes…………if’n you are reading this, and you know these lads, share the link; I’d be happy with a simple comment……….it’s time to engage in discourse……..comments are purposeful, in lieu of a discussion forum, they act to serve as both response to the entry and to further direct the entire process into more substantial directions.

And just out of curiousity – http://www.freepatentsonline.com/20120028222.pdf – check out the latest patent application on an endodontic irrigation device…..!!!!!

The point or counterpoint of all this is to use this blog to ensure accuracy in all things…..my area of interest is endodontics….we are blessed with editorial consultants in the full range of dental disciplines and to that end, each should seek to serve the profession in terms of ensuring standards of care from whatever vantage point.
