Bone Grafting: Ridge Augmentation and Socket Preservation with Bone Grafting for Future Implant Placement

UP TO TWO LIVE DEMO SURGERIES AND HANDS ON SURGERIES IN SIMULATION (ANIMAL MANDIBLES)
This 2-day course is designed to teach dentists the procedure of lateral ridge augmentation viaguided bone regeneration. Bone healing patterns, grafting materials & membranes, indications
& management of complications will be addressed in detail. Atraumatic Extraction and SocketPreservation with bone grafting will also be addressed in detail.
Participants will learn about the role soft tissue grafting has in assisting bone grafting and improvingthe esthetics of implant cases. Treatment planning of participants’ cases will be discussed if suchcases are brought to the mentors by the dentists. Suturing techniques will also be demonstrated.
There will be one or two LIVE demo surgeries performed on patients by the course mentor(s). Alldentists will perform hands-on surgeries in simulation on animal mandibles.
Participants will practice atraumatic extraction (with periotomes), socket preservation (withor without bone grafting), lateral ridge augmentation in single site cases with the use of bone substitutes and the appropriate suturing techniques.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
At the completion of this course, dentists will:
1. Understand the methodology and rationale for Atraumatic Extraction & Socket Preservation
2. Understand the methodology & rationale for single site lateral ridge augmentation and theirlimitations on this procedure
3. Develop diagnostic protocols to recognize uncomplicated from complicated cases and thedifferent treatment planning strategy required
4. Manage postoperative phase and potential complications.
