With the advent of magnification devices such as loupes and the operating microscope, along with nickel titanium rotary instruments, irrigation solutions and techniques, as well as new Bioceramic obturation techniques including thermoplasticized gutta percha,
the way we perform root canals has vastly changed over recent years.
We will discuss the latest instrument technologies and metallurgy, and introduce a concept in instruments used for shaping the root canal conservatively, even with complicated anatomy: a rotary system of instruments made with Controlled Memory (CM) NiTi™.
ACCESS CAVITY PREPARATION
Conservative, yet adequate access will be discussed, along with new burs to access through current restorative materials such as zirconia. Also specifically designed burs and ultrasonic instruments used
for access and locations of calcified canals will be demonstrated and made available to participants.
A modern technique using a Bioceramic sealer with a single cone of gutta percha, and warm gutta percha using cordless technologies will be highlighted, and attendees will have the opportunity to obturate
their extracted teeth using this cordless obturation equipment.
The concept of “Ultrasonification”, which is the use of ultrasonics for effective irrigation will be discussed, and demonstrated. Attendees will get a chance to use ultrasonics on their extracted teeth.
