ELEMENTS OF MODERN ENDODONTICS – A MODULAR APPROACH – MODULE 1

September 28, 2022
Royal Botanical Gardens 680 Plains Road W Burlington, ON L7T 4H4

COURSE OUTLINE:
Recent studies suggest that endodontic success rates have not measurably improved with the new technology available to us. With such complex root anatomy, the variety of canal dimensions, and compromised teeth that clinicians face along with the dozens of variables in the instruments used to treat such anatomy, it is clear that a more “tailor-made” approach is needed for Endodontic therapy today, with an emphasis on preserving vital tooth structure wherever possible. Anecdotal experience, and the advent of microcomputed tomography, allowing more complete three-dimensional information on canal anatomy, underscores the need to take this approach.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
MODULE 1 – ENDODONTIC CLEANING & SHAPING
The following topics will be covered during this module:
*Modern Access
*Modern Cleaning and shaping: Preserving Precious Dentin
*Locating and treating MB2
*Irrigants and lubrication
*Causes of NiTi separation

Hands-On Workshop will focus on canal instrumentation and irrigation.

PLEASE NOTE: Participants are asked to bring at least one of each pre-accessed bicuspids and molars, instrumented to a #10 file. Those who will also be attending Module 2 will be asked to take their instrumented teeth home, and return with them for Module 2.
