This a web-based online learning platform that presents 170 pediatric bitewing radiographs alongside a brief clinical history, and the course participant has to diagnose the presence or absence of interproximal dental caries. If present, the participant is asked to identify all interproximal dental caries present in the radiographic image by clicking on all the lesions (demo @ https://imagesim.com/demo/). While the goal is to achieve the competency standard of 80% accuracy, 80% sensitivity (performance on cases with caries), and 80% specificity (performance on cases without caries), participants will not be required to achieve competency to claim credits. Credits will be claimed based on how many cases they do whereby 100 cases = 1 hour. Participants can do all the cases a maximum of five times over a two-year period and claim CME credits for all cases they do in the five cycles (total of 9 CME hours). This course is offered by the Hospital for Sick Children and the PACE approved University of Toronto and approved by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario for 9 Category 2 credits.
