Beam Me Up, Satwant

Urban Dental Centre, Mississauga, ON

“Star Trek,” is what I said to Mike Kavanagh of Patterson Dental. That’s what I wanted my new office to look like. He accepted my challenge on behalf of Patterson Dental and together with TRIPAR Improvements, they built me the office of my dreams.

The capability of holding lectures and live patient demonstrations required my waiting room to be fully convertible to a classroom format. My main op has a Seiler Microscope equipped with a live video camera that be telecast simultaneously in all six ops as well as on a 12-ft. projector screen in the waiting room.

I chose Adec cabinets for all my operatories. I like the look and function they give my new office. I have a Triangle Stericentre and my staff absolutely love it. They like the systematic flow of instruments from dirty to clean and all the built-in protocols that go along with it.

The most exciting aspect of my new office is, of course, all the digital technology. I employ the use of three monitors in each op so that whatever we are doing we can communicate information to our patients at all times. As with my first office, I chose the direct sensor route as I feel the image quality and speed is second-to-none.

We also included for our patients’ comfort a soothing room where they can relax after surgery. Of course my new office is also equipped with Cerec 3D for the ultimate patient treatment. I am delighted with the final product, and if I had to do it all again, I’d use the same team.
