Office Design: Environ-dentally balanced

A dental office is an expression of the practitioners’ philosophy and should reflect the times and surroundings. It has to be environ-dentally balanced. With this principle, Dr. Brian Kalliecharan and team established their practice in Barrrie, ON.

The practice, named after its website, adentaloffice.com, is host to state-of-the-art computer technology encompassing digitized radiography, cosmetic imaging and intra oral photography. The incorporation of client educational tools including Casey DVD and The Smile Channel complement this progressive atmosphere.

The office, designed by Gloria Fine of Gloria Fine Design and Walter Panaroni of Ash Temple, integrates curved walls with high, cascading drop ceilings and unfinished slate flooring with soft cove lighting. The palate of colours is a millennium blend of cool greens, purples and silvers with warm bronzes, cherry wood and muted yellows. Design and colour are synchronized through glass, ultimately revealing the indigenous landscape.

Client comfort and convenience are cultivated with massaging treatment chairs, virtual reality DVD, Internet access in the reception area and bottled water.

Dr. Kalliecharan worked with Karen Zidenberg and Lyndon Smith (Learning Express), PPC Microsmith and Sci-Can for computer support and training. Guidance and leadership were provided by John Wistoski (Ash Temple), Dan Mount (The Practice Marketers) and David Chong Yen & Associates. Dave and Robert Colagiacomo of Tripar Improvements spearheaded construction. DPM
