PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Over the years, the ODA’s Annual Spring Meeting (ASM) has provided a forum through which the professional needs of the entire dental team have been met.

The ASM is one of the 10 largest educational forums in North America for the dental profession. More than 3,590 ODA members, 2,500 dental assistants, 1,500 hygienists and 160 students attended last year’s event to learn about new practice ideas, equipment and products. This year, there will be three days of education and the sharing of ideas among colleagues. As one of Canada’s leading provincial dental associations, the ODA aims to provide its members and their teams with value for membership.

You will be impressed at the diversity of scientific programs, which are being presented at the 136th ODA Annual Spring Meeting. The variety of programs and exhibits will provide an opportunity to view the latest techniques and to expand the horizons of our professional knowledge. Be sure to spend some time on the exhibit floor and recognize the important role our exhibitors play in supporting the dental team and ASM.

This meeting also provides us with the opportunity to meet classmates and colleagues and renew friendships. We welcome all members of the oral healthcare team and exhibitors and I hope that each of you will benefit from participation in this great event.

EXHIBITS

The exhibit floor has been expanded again for 2003 to offer 457 booths to over 250 exhibitors. Exhibiting companies will be presenting the latest in dental products and services.

Golf Swing Analysis

If you’re a golfer, you won’t want to miss the complimentary Golf Swing Analysis from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on Thursday and Friday. You’ll receive a 10-minute video of your swing complete with analysis provided by the teaching professionals from the ClubLink Academy at Glen Abbey. You will find the Golf Swing Analysis on the Exhibit Floor at the end of aisle 600.

Handwriting Analysis

Elaine Charel will be back again to amaze you with her assessment of your personality based on your handwriting. She will be on the Exhibit Floor at the end of row 2000 both Thursday and Friday from 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm.

ODA Booth

The ODA Booth will be easy to find this year, located as you come on to the Exhibit Floor at the top of the main escalators. Stop by the ODA booth during your visit to the Annual Spring Meeting. We’ll answer your questions about benefits such as Extended Health Care, the Suggested Fee Guide and government lobbying on your behalf. We will also tell you about some of our new programs designed to enhance the profile of our profession.

Dentists Job Fair

The Dentists Job Fair initiated in 2002 will now be part of the ODA Booth. Dentists can bring their notices looking for staff or a job and post it on one of the notice boards.
