South Asian Dental Association (SADA) holds dental screenings at Shoppers World

Toronto–The South Asian Dental Association (SADA) held its’ first ever dental screening for the general public. This event was held at Shoppers World in Brampton, ON, where more than 700 people were screened by 50+ dental professionals.

SADA realizes the great need for access to care for dentistry within the community. The Oral Health Awareness Campaign was targeting children and youth in its’ initial phase. It had come to a great surprise to the board of SADA that there is a substantial need of dental care among adults and seniors. Dr. Neil Gajjar, President-Elect of the Ontario Academy of General Dentistry stated that “we have found the needs of our senior community are under served and there is a need from all dental organizations to service these people. From a South Asian perspective, seniors are the most respected in our community and little has been done to deliver this respect.”
