The following sizes can be used as guidelines when planning storage arrays for digital systems. These are average sizes and will vary depending on your specific hardware, software, and compression ratios.
Digital Image Sizes
Digital Intra-Oral Radiograph | 1MB |
Digital Intra-Oral Camera Image | 1MB |
Digital Camera Image | 3MB |
Digital Pan | 4MB |
“Hard Drives” are used to store digital images, and are sized using GB (GigaBytes). 1GB is equal to 1,000MB (MegaBytes). 1GB of drive space will therefore hold about 10,000 digital intra-oral radiographs.
