Dentists and their staff should have quicker access to the COVID-19 vaccine because they’re at high risk for the virus and play a key role in the pandemic, says the head of a Stoney Creek dental group.
Julie Hamada, executive director at Monarch Dentistry, says dentists have played a big role in taking some of the pressure off emergency rooms in the hospitals that were being filled up with people with dental problems.
“The dentists took that risk and took that chance and provided health care to these patients while trying to keep themselves safe and their families and everybody around them,” Hamada told CBC Hamilton.
