Henry Schein Announces Takeover of Dental Supplies Ltd In Newfoundland and Labrador

Henry Schein, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSIC), the world’s largest provider of health care products and services to office-based dental, animal health and medical practitioners, today announced the acquisition of Dental Supplies Limited (Dental Supplies), a leading full-service distributor serving dental practices in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Henry Schein has served dentists and dental laboratories in Canada since the late 1980s, and this transaction expands the Company’s presence in the most easterly province of the country.

Founded in 1949, Dental Supplies is based in Mount Pearl and had sales in 2015 of approximately US$4.7 million. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Dental Supplies’ partners Larry Abbott, Chris Murray, and Gord Mercer will join Henry Schein and will provide extensive local-market experience, as well as long-standing customer and supplier relationships. Dental Supplies will be integrated into Henry Schein Canada.
