Delta Dental released their 2023 State of America’s Oral Health and Wellness Report, revealing oral health opinions and behaviours across generations. The research included more than 2,000 U.S. adults and parents.

It was encouraging to see that most adults (92%) consider oral health to be important to their overall health. However, it is interesting to note that only 73% of Gen Z agreed that having good oral health leads to a healthier lifestyle, versus the average of Millennials, Gen X and Boomers being 90%.

Another noteworthy difference between the generations is that Gen Z is twice as likely as Boomers to use eco-friendly or non-traditional dental care products. With 66% of Gen Z reporting alternative dental product usage, it is something for the dental industry to keep in mind.
