P.E.I. Dental Hygienists Offering Free Oral Health Care

P.E.I. dental professionals will once again be opening their hearts by providing free oral health care to those in the community who need it most.

On Saturday April 7, the Prince Edward Island Dental Hygienists’ Association is hosting a one-day event, Gift from the Heart, for people who can’t afford dental hygiene treatment at the dental assisting clinic at Holland College in Charlottetown.

The day is set aside for registered dental hygienists from all across Canada to share their skills and knowledge with those who need it most. Over the past decade, registered dental hygienists have provided more than $1 million in hygiene care to Canadians.

April is oral health month, which includes National Dental Hygienists Week, April 7-13, with the theme “Oral Health for Total Health.”
