‘Profession, Passion, Power’ Create Dentsply Sirona’s p3 Alumni Forum

Holding a leading position in a complex and competitive industry, such as dental healthcare, is no easy task. The right communication approach is a crucial component to influence the market. For over a decade now, Dentsply Sirona has been building the next generation of key opinion leaders from universities and private clinics with its p3 International Training Program. The program ends with the p3 Alumni Forum. It took place on April 27th for the 5th time.

Started in 2006 as an initiative by Dentsply Sirona Implants and having grown over the years to include participants from 19 countries, the p3 International Program is a story of continuing success. Key opinion leaders (KOLs) play a significant role as trusted voices and industry influencers among their fellow dental professionals. The p3 stands for ‘Profession, Passion, Power’. Candidates are selected for their professional clinical experience and knowledge, passion for taking on a more public role at speaking or training events, and their own desire for a long-term partnership with Dentsply Sirona.

“It is a demanding program, with dedicated coaches and mentors, through which dental professionals can achieve a step forward in their personal careers,” says Brigit Wilhelm, Senior Manager KOL Programs, “This year’s p3 graduates represent Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Poland and Spain.”

The recent 2018 p3 Alumni Forum brought together more than 70 participants from 18 countries
This year’s p3 Alumni Forum took place at the Lufthansa Conference Center in Seeheim-Jugenheim near Frankfurt am Main, Germany. As is the custom each year, the first module for the new p3 International Program class coincides with both the graduation of the prior class and the annual p3 Alumni Forum. This creates a perfect opportunity for the international group of graduates from previous classes to come together and reconnect, which in turn strengthens Dentsply Sirona’s international business network. This year’s event was yet another opportunity for KOLs to share personal strategies and perspectives, as well as clinical and scientific experiences.

The p3 Alumni Forum serves as a catalyst for a global network of communication, cooperation and support of international activities
Discussions, networking and socializing have always been at the heart of the p3 Alumni Forum. A major reason for the event’s success year after year is the unique atmosphere of unity between all participants, created by their shared experiences and career paths within the p3 International Program. “This year’s p3 Alumni Forum again showed its great potential to exchange experiences on a high-level and with like-minded people from all over the globe,” recaps Dr. Orcan Yüksel, one of the experienced mentors of the program. Each participant has been going through a series of five required training modules within an intense one-year training program, and has been coached not only in public speaking, rhetoric and podium presence, but also in dental photography and abstract writing. The p3 International Program also focuses on improving each participant’s ability to frame a topic and to capture an audience’s attention. The training program is supported by Dentsply Sirona’s experienced team of trainers, coaches and mentors. More than 80 percent of graduates go on to have a role on regional podiums. Since 2010, 17 percent of graduates have already been involved in international podium appearances.
