Relaunch of a Dental Therapy Program in Saskatchewan Would Address Needs of First Nations

Nearly a decade after Canada’s National School of Dental Therapy shut its doors, three Saskatchewan organizations have joined forces in an effort to resume the teaching of dental therapy in the country.

The Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority, Saskatchewan Polytechnic and the University of Saskatchewan announced Monday that they have secured $150,000 from Indigenous Services Canada to develop a proposal for what they hope will become the only accredited dental therapy program in Canada.
