Robert Ganley Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Robert Ganley was recently awarded the Lifetime Achievement Evy Award by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). Ganley was presented with his award during the 35 th Annual AACD Annual Scientific Session’s Celebration of Excellence on April 27, 2019 in San Diego.

The AACD honors its most accomplished and dedicated professionals with Celebration of Excellence awards, also known as Evy awards. Evy recipients are first nominated for the award by their colleagues and then are selected by the Awards and Recognition Committee. Evy award winners represent the most exemplary and talented individuals within the AACD who are dedicated to advancing excellence in the art and science of cosmetic dentistry and to the highest standards of ethical patient care.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to an individual who has demonstrated significant achievement in the cosmetic dentistry or restorative dentistry fields both personally and professionally.

Robert Ganley became an AACD member in 2003. He earned an undergraduate degree in mathematics and a graduate degree in business administration. In 1980, he joined Ivoclar Vivadent as Vice President and was named President of Ivoclar Vivadent North America in 1990. For the past 16 years, he has served as the CEO of Ivoclar Vivadent where he oversaw an organization with more than 3500 global employees.

“During his tenure with Ivoclar Vivadent, Bob has made many significant contributions to dentistry, and many industry experts credit him with Changing the Face of Dentistry when the organization launched The Esthetic Revolution in the early 1990s,” said AACD President Betsy Bakeman. “Bob introduced a promise for better dentistry, greater patient satisfaction, and more creativity for dental professionals. This concept re-invigorated dental professionals and ushered in a new era in esthetic restorative dentistry. Today, he is steering in a new revolution in cosmetic dentistry – The Digital Age. Under his direction, Ivoclar Vivadent has a clear and promising path that includes a wide range of restorative solutions and digital processes for dentistry.”

A 39-year veteran of Ivoclar Vivadent, Ganley will be retiring in July. However, he will remain active with the organization as a member of its Supervisory Board.
