Ruling on Dental Plan Negotiations Between PSAC, Treasury Board Being Appealed


The Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board has found that the Treasury Board violated a section of the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations Act by not agreeing to start negotiations for the renewal of a dental care plan with the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC). The federal government is appealing this ruling.

PSAC filed a complaint against the Treasury Board last June and the labour board ruled in their favor in March. The government is arguing that the union declined to participate in the benchmarking study on the topic that was being pursued and instead filed a complaint.
