
The Health Standards Organization (HSO) has updated the Long-Term Care Services standard, and the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association (CDHA) is pleased. “This standard, produced following extensive research and consultations with stakeholders including dental hygienists, upholds high-quality resident-centred care, promotes good governance, and aims to foster a healthy and competent workforce in long-term care (LTC) homes across Canada,” shares the CDHA.
The CDHA made many recommendations, including having oral health assessments during evaluations of patient’s physical health needs, which the HSO accepted.
