Dental Shield is the newest provider of a five-year dental warranty that covers participating dentist’s patients for 5 years and pays the dentists for patient claims that arise from a failed restorative procedure. Dental Shield has engaged Internet Marketing-Consultant.com to help them in their product awareness campaign.
Dental Shield launched its new insured 5-year dental warranty program for Dentists at the Ontario Dental Association convention in Toronto, Ca. “We have been preparing for over 2 years and we are happy to be here, at the Ontario Dental Association, to present and launch Dental Shield to North America,” said CEO Stephen Patterson
Mr. Patterson told me that the insured Dental Shield Warranty program is a concept whose time has come and the dental market is ready for a fully insured warranty product. Patterson went on to say, “We have secured a relationship with one of the world’s largest financial institutions that will be standing behind the warranty program and will automatically instill confidence in the program from the patient to the dentist. Without an insurer standing behind the warranty for the patients there are too many non-controllable factors the patient is at risk for. With an insured warranty the patient knows for certain the warranty will be honored even if the Dentist retires, sells their practice or the patient moves. Without the insured value of the warranty what happens if the company or companies offering the warranty go out of business; what is backing them if they fail? This was a large concern for us and is why we have chosen to wait until now to launch with one of the largest financial institutions in the world behind the Dental Shield Warranty program.”
The benefits of the Dental Warranty Program for the patient are they can be assured that if anything goes wrong with a restorative procedure after the dentist has 100% completed the procedure it will be covered for the next 5 years. I was told this means if a patient had to go back to their dentist there would be no charge from the dentist. The dentist would submit their bill to Dental Shield instead. This creates a loyal and confident patient for the practice since the patient will not have to worry who will cover the cost of repairs, if needed, for the next 5 years. “It also turns free services into a significant profit center for the Dentist,” according to Patterson.
Here is a partial list of the restorative dental processes that are now covered under the Dental Shield Warranty:
“We were excited to see the response from those attending the ODA Spring Meeting,” said Patterson, “as we spoke to hundreds of dental professionals, most of which we very intrigued and could see the many benefits to their practice and for their patients. The Dental Shield Program solves 2 major issues the Dentist is faced with. First, the amount of free service and staff time they provide when something needs repair and attention for a failed restoration procedure, and second is a way to convert that free service into a new income stream with zero additional effort. They are now getting paid for what they used to do for free.”
Dental Shield Warranty is based in Canada and is currently only available in Canada. I was told they will be launching in all the United States shortly on a limited basis and are now taking pre-registrations for only a max of 30 dental offices per state. “We want to ensure the quality of our dentists. Because of the uniqueness of the Dental Shield program and as this is an additional income stream for the Dental Office, we want to make sure we are working with those dentists we can stand behind. We are also accepting applications for new dental practices as well based on our guidelines. Click here for the Dental Shield pre-registration form.
It is our goal to make sure the brand stands for quality and is identifiable by the public as a sign of that quality and professionalism when they are searching for their next dentist.
Dental Shield provides a warranty program for the patient that covers repairs for restorative dental work over a 5 year period from the date the work was completed. The dental warranty is only currently available in North America. Plans are to offer the program on a worldwide basis in the near future.
