Heraeus Named “Supplier of the Year” by National Association of Dental Laboratories

Company honored for commitment to dental laboratory innovation, education and community involvement

Heraeus Kulzer, LLC, the worldwide leader in dental esthetics, today announced that it was named “Supplier of the Year” by the National Association of Dental Laboratories (NADL). Heraeus was selected for this honor based on numerous criteria, including achievements in dental laboratory technology, product innovation and community involvement.

“NADL is pleased to recognize Heraeus Kulzer as this year’s Supplier of the Year. The company has a longstanding reputation of excellent service, product development and focus on the laboratory community. Their support of dental laboratory technology education as a strong contributor to the Foundation for Dental Laboratory Technology highlights their commitment for the future,” said Henry Martin, CDT, NADL president.

Lesley Melvin, Product Manager for Heraeus’s Laboratory Division, said, “We are extremely proud to have received this prestigious honor. Dental laboratories play a vital role in our industry, and supporting their efforts with the best possible materials, educational offerings and other services is one of our highest corporate priorities.”

Heraeus makes annual donations to the NADL’s Foundation for Dental Laboratory Technicians (FDLT) based on the value of refined scrap from all NADL/FDLT member laboratories processed at its state-of-the-art refinery in Newark, New Jersey. The company also co-sponsored the Heraeus-Henry Schein Cares Transforming Lives Scholarship for second-year dental technology students. In addition, Heraeus offers free webinars for dental laboratory technicians.

Many Heraeus products have been a mainstay with dental laboratories for years. The company’s Mondial® i line of denture teeth is the industry’s gold standard. It utilizes a unique three-dimensional multi-layering technique to create a blended, translucent enamel normally found only in natural teeth. This line also incorporates Nanopearl® materials that enable Mondial denture teeth to withstand implant forces. In addition, Heraeus’s CAD/CAM technology allows Mondial teeth designed for occlusal schemes to be made from denser materials that have a significantly lower incidence of breakage.

The company’s Modern Materials® line of dental gypsum has long been the market leader due to unmatched reliability that greatly reduces the likelihood of remakes. Heraeus also offers dental laboratories a variety of other products to meet their every need, including the Labstone®, Die-Keen® and Lab Plaster® lines.

The National Association of Dental Laboratories is a federation of state commercial dental laboratory associations formed in 1951 by a merger of the Dental Laboratory Institute of America and the American Dental Laboratory Association. The NADL mission is to serve as the unified voice of the dental laboratory industry supporting dentistry and serving the public interest by promoting high standards. It accomplishes this mission by providing programs, services and networking opportunities to meet the evolving technical, educational, professional and business needs of dental laboratories.
