American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) Accredited Member, Marilyn R. Calvo, DDS, AAACD, was recently awarded the Outstanding Service Evy Award during the 35th Annual AACD Annual Scientific Session’s Celebration of Excellence on April 27, 2019 in San Diego.
The AACD honors its most accomplished and dedicated professionals with Celebration of Excellence awards, also known as Evy awards. Evy recipients are first nominated for the award by their colleagues and then are selected by the Awards and Recognition Committee. Evy award winners represent the most exemplary and talented individuals within the AACD who are dedicated to advancing excellence in the art and science of cosmetic dentistry and to the highest standards of ethical patient care.
Outstanding Service Award is given to a member who has gone above and beyond in their service to the Academy.
Marilyn R. Calvo, DDS, AAACD, has been an AACD member since 1998, and currently partners at Smile Studio LA in Encino, CA. Dr. Calvo earned her DDS degree at UCLA School of Dentistry in 1979 and earned her AACD Accreditation in 2007. She has assumed many leadership roles on numerous boards and committees for the AACD and is currently serving on the Board of Directors. She has been relentless in encouraging members in the process of Accreditation to continue moving forward with their AACD Accreditation journey. As chair of the Member Relations Committee, Dr. Calvo has been known throughout the Academy to go above and beyond to ensure everyone within the Academy feels welcomed and included. “Whether it comes to making phone calls to new members or making time at the Scientific Sessions to answer questions from attendees and point them in the right direction to get the help they are after, she is the ultimate ambassador for our Academy” says AACD Immediate Past President, J.A.
