ORMCO CORPORATION ANNOUNCES OPEN REGISTRATION FOR ITS 11TH ANNUAL DAMON FORUM

Educational Conference Offers Dynamic Lectures and Workshops for Orthodontists and Their Entire Staff

Ormco Corporation, a leading manufacturer and provider of advanced orthodontic technology and services, today announced that registration is open for its 11th Annual Damon Forum, the largest privately-sponsored orthodontic event in the world. The clinical educational and practice-building conference-designed specifically for orthodontists, clinical staff, treatment coordinators, office managers and front office staff-will take place Jan. 18-21, 2012, at the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Phoenix. Integrating cutting-edge research with interactive clinical workshops, the unique conference highlights the latest treatment mechanics and most advanced technology across the orthodontics profession.

“The Damon Forum is unlike any other educational event I have ever attended,” said Dr. Jonathan R. Weinbach, a seasoned orthodontist and past Damon Forum attendee from Westminster, Colo. “It offers the newest cutting-edge materials, techniques and treatment philosophies that focus on the future of orthodontics, not the past.”

Recognizing the demand for in-depth educational discussions across the orthodontics profession, the Damon Forum offers more than 30 in-depth lectures and workshops headlined by world-renowned clinicians on a variety of topics. Of notable importance, Dr. Dwight Damon, inventor of the Damon System, is slated to make his one and only appearance at an Ormco event in 2012. Dr. Damon will kick off the meeting with “A Decade of Passive Self-Ligation,” which will highlight the evolution of self-ligation technology and provide a glimpse into its future.

New to the Forum this year will be the unveiling of affordable intra-oral scanning technology and other digital treatment solutions. In addition, for the first time and exclusive to the Forum, Ormco will release the results of a new study concerning healthcare consumer purchasing criteria and patient starts data to help doctors understand the rapidly changing marketplace and how to adapt their practices to accommodate today’s more discriminating prospective patient.

Other sessions will focus on clinical treatment mechanics, new technology applications and practice-building through creative financing and referral network strategies as well as online marketing and social media. Highlights include hands-on bracket placement workshops for precision finishing, integrating functional and cosmetic results, increasing patient compliance, incorporating temporary anchorage devices and digital solutions, and simplifying challenging cases.

In addition to networking opportunities with more than 1,400 orthodontic professionals from around the world, the conference also allows attendees to earn up to 17 American Dental Association (ADA) continuing education credits.

“The orthodontics profession is rapidly evolving, so we’ve put together a one-of-a-kind conference that offers the greatest diversity of programs in our company’s history,” said Matt O’Connell, executive vice president, at Ormco. “You don’t have to use the Damon System to benefit from this forum. Whether you are a returning attendee looking for best practices and new techniques or a newcomer looking for information from general mechanics to digital solutions, the Damon Forum offers something for everyone.”

Conference attendees will enjoy luxury amenities at the desert mountain resort, including a world-class spa, championship golf, tennis and exquisite dining at establishments such as Ristorante Tuscany, a rated AAA Four-Diamond restaurant.
