SINCLAIR DENTAL PRESIDENT ARJANG NOWTASH NAMED B2B PRODUCTS & SERVICES ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR 2007
BC-Based Dental Business Owner Honoured by Respected Business Award
Sinclair Dental Co. Ltd., Canada’s fastest growing full-service dental supply company, today announced that its President, Arjang Nowtash, has been named B2B Products and Services Entrepreneur of the Year 2007 for the Pacific Region.
Mr. Nowtash received his award in front of more than 1,100 representatives of the BC business
community at the 2007 presentation ceremony for the prestigious Pacific Ernst & Young
Entrepreneur of the Year awards. In awarding Mr. Nowtash the top award in the B2B Products and
Services category, judges praised his innovation, saying:
“Nowtash introduced innovative ideas in a traditional industry dominated by large US players based on providing value for money to customers The company demonstrates impressive revenue growth and very attractive profitability.”
Mr. Nowtash grew up in Tehran, Iran, where, after studying medicine and dentistry, he joined his father’s dental business as a sales representative. When his family moved to Canada in 1983, Mr. Nowtash sought opportunities in the dental supply business, eventually buying
Vancouver-based Sinclair Dental in 1988.
Using all the experience he gained during his time with his father’s business, Mr. Nowtash led the transformation of Sinclair Dental from a company of 12 employees and annual sales of $1.5 million in BC to one of more than 300 employees, with annual sales topping $100 million. With 11 locations across Canada, Sinclair Dental is now the largest supplier of dental products in Western Canada, and one of the top three in Canada. The company has recently expanded its comprehensive range of
high-quality services and products to include the latest hi-tech dental equipment.
Commenting on his Entrepreneur of the Year 2007 award, Mr. Nowtash said, “I am extremely
