The T.A.D. had their second “ski for kids” for Sick Children’s Hospital

On Friday February 11, 2011, The T.A.D. had their second “ski for kids” for Sick Children’s Hospital. This ski day in the past has been in conjunction with the C.C.R.F. a cardiac group, but last year a decision was made to focus on children with cleft lip and palate, and with the help of Ken Croney and Henry Schein dental , the first ski for kids was held.

The event was held at Alpine Ski Club ,a private club in Collingwood. The weather could not have been more conducive to a successful day with moderate temperatures, and lots of sun. Most people arrived on their own ,but a full bus load brought others for the day. People were greeted by committee members and given their give aways ,then a nutritious breakfast and then out to the slopes. Many were taking complimentary lessons at whatever levels they had. A wonderful lunch ,races during the afternoon and finally apres ski with hot horsdeuvres, complimentary drinks and then raffle prizes 50/50 draws and lots of fun, all for a wonderful cause , children who needed help!   In our wrap up meeting held recently we were proud and pleased to see that over $20,000.00 was raised by this event. We need to thank those who attended, somewhere around 175 happy people. Those that participated went home with race prizes give aways and a lot of smiles.

Special thanks to committee members, co-chairs, especially Henry Schein, Sinclair Dental ,those members from our C.C.R.F. Uof T alumni,Alpha Omega fraternity,  specifically Christina, Jo ,Wilf ,Mike, Dave , Diane , Arlene ,Earl, Dave , Ragna, and the wonderful team at Alpine.

We look forward to seeing you and your friends and family back to join us next year.
