From Women for Women: Dentsply Sirona has Launched a New Train-the-Trainer Program

Traveling from nine countries to Bensheim for a very special kind of training, 12 female dentists participated in an intensive, week-long program focusing on integrated solutions from Dentsply Sirona. Under the name “Women in Dentistry,” the company has launched a new series of training sessions to specifically address the wishes and needs of women.

“How can I get my female colleagues excited about my work?” “What are the options for sharing my knowledge so that they can use it directly in practice?” These and other questions were at the center of an exclusive one-week train-the-trainer event in Bensheim. The program with only women speakers included presentations and workshops on CEREC and integrated solutions that link products from different disciplines in an intelligent workflow. Many lively and interesting discussions ensued. Speaker Dr. Bernhild-Elke Stamnitz from Langen, one of four female ISCD certified CEREC trainers in Germany (and one of 24 in the world), shared her own experiences: “A different attitude to technology, the wish for the greatest possible precision, and a teamwork approach predestine women to become trainers. I am honored to be part of the first step in this direction at Dentsply Sirona.”

The participants came to Bensheim with very specific expectations; they wanted to increase their knowledge about products and solutions, exchange information with colleagues, learn how to introduce women dentists in their own country to CEREC, and how such training events can be conducted ‒the one-week program offered all this. The participants experienced a very interesting, practical, and exclusive training event.

In-depth answers to detailed questions
Michael BuzanichRegional Sales Manager at Dentsply Sirona, and Wassilios Intzes, Sales Manager Imaging at Dentsply Sirona, were pleased to have this opportunity to meet with female dentists: “Women dentists frequently experience their profession in a different way than their male colleagues; they often have very special demands of products and workflows. This is why it is so important for us to work together with them. We hope to lay the cornerstone for a network that will be an inspiration for all involved.”

The women dentists also received input for their new role as trainers from Christine Weidner, certified sales trainer. Presentation strategies and the communication of in-depth product information were the key points of her workshop.

Responses to new trends in dentistry
The IDS in particular illustrated the dynamic situation in the development of new products and solutions. It is no longer a question of whether practices will become digitized, but of how dentists can optimally integrate digitization into their practices. This starts with digital imaging methods, for example with the Orthophos SL hybrid unit and its integration capabilities with CEREC to complete CAD/CAM chairside restorations and digital planning tools for implantology or endodontics, such as the 3D Endo software. In addition, a tour of the Bensheim production halls gave a comprehensive insight into the company’s production and its product portfolio.

Dr. Dorotea Gindy from Cairo, Egypt, has a joint practice with her husband where she would like to set up a CEREC training room. “I have been to CEREC training events where I was the only women among my male colleagues. Learning here among women was a completely different experience. The openness and casual atmosphere among the women made this training event something very special.” Dr. Marylinn Esther Musinguri from Kampala, Uganda, felt the same: “I would like to help make digital technologies something positive in my country – both for our work as dentists and for the patients who experience more comfortable treatment. I received a lot of encouragement here to do this.”

For Dentsply Sirona, this was a first step towards working more intensively with female dentists in the future. “Dentistry is becoming more female-oriented and we want to adapt to this trend with our solutions and workflows. The positive feedback confirms our commitment to expanding this train-the-trainer concept,” Michael Buzanich concluded.
