BEGO Presents New Developments and Advancements at the IDS

On time for the opening of the dental world’s leading trade fair BEGO presents the new 3D printer Varseo S for quick, easy and cost-effective laboratory production of restorations made from resins. Thanks to the approximately 30% larger building plate compared to the previous model Varseo, now the simultaneous printing of even more objects is possible. The unique cartridge system allows a material change in a few seconds, a low material consumption and a minimal material ageing. Additionally, the network capability of the compact device enables a fast BEGO service via remote control.

The Varseo S 3D printing system also includes the new light-curing unit BEGO Otoflash for rapid and reliable light-curing of the VarseoWax resins, the investment material VarseoVest P for CAD/Cast partial denture frames as well as software tools and services. The new resin VarseoWax Splint E for 3D printing of occlusal splints with excellent flow properties provides a dense surface, a high level of impact strength for guaranteed stability and long-term durability in the patient’s mouth. In the course of 2017, BEGO is going to expand its range of resins by providing VarseoWax Base for 3D printing of full denture bases as well as VarseoWax Temp for 3D printing of long-term temporaries.

Important for the user: The BEGO 3D printing system makes them MDR ready! Validated processes from scanning to finishing and the associated process documentation provide them security that future requirements on the production of medical devices will be met in compliance with the Medical Device Regulation (MDR).

BEGO also offers a comprehensive range of laboratory scanners and CAD software. Users can choose from different systems of scanner models in conjunction with market-leading CAD software. New releases are the BEGO LabScan UHD (Ultra High Definition) powered by exocad* as well as the new BEGO SPEEDSCAN®/3Shape* scanner (models E1, E2 und E3) with high-resolution 5.0 MP cameras.

The portfolio of CAD/CAM materials is also being expanded. The new Mediloy® cobalt-chrome und titanium milling blanks offer the possibility to produce crowns and bridges as well as implant prosthetics directly in the laboratory. Additionally, customers will profit from the range of orthodontic appliances made out of Wirobond® C+. The appliances produced in the high tech CAD/CAM production center in Bremen using the SLM (selective laser melting) method are indicated as exposures to function elements and/or supports. Another addition to the portfolio are individual healing posts, which ensure a patient-customized soft tissue management for outstanding esthetics. The new multilayer zirconia KATANA* Zirconia UTML (Ultra Translucent Multi Layered), characterized by its smooth color gradient and its high level of translucency, and thermoplastic splints made out of BEGO PMMA Splint E with a very high wearing comfort complement the product range.
