LED Medical, Apteryx, Inc. Announces SaaS 3D Imaging Module for XVWeb Cloud

LED Medical Diagnostics Inc. (“LED Medical” or “the Company”) subsidiary Apteryx, Inc. has announced their upcoming 3D Imaging Module for the XVWeb Cloud platform. XVWeb 3D allows for cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and stereolithography (STL) datasets to be accessed, viewed, and shared securely via any compatible web browser in real time.

Apteryx’s XVWeb is a leading dental imaging software platform that utilizes Microsoft Azure cloud technology to deliver state-of-the-art clinical image storage, optimization and analysis as a cost-effective subscription service. Offering elasticity and scalability, XVWeb allows practices to access their clinical image data 24 hours per day, 7 days per week from compatible web-connected devices with the added security of off-site storage and back-up. The addition of XVWeb 3D will allow the same level of accessibility and security for any STL or CBCT dataset. All 3D image interactions can be perfomed via the web along with the utilization of a full suite of image enhancement and annotation tools.

“The launch of XVWeb 3D is a significant milestone for our business,” stated Kevin Crucs, vice president of research and development for Apteryx, Inc. “Up to this point in time, the storage and manipulation of STL and CBCT data has presented a challenge for cloud computing due to the size and complexity of the files being managed. The Apteryx team has developed a cloud computing solution that is able to give clinicians the 3D planning and visualization tools they need while maintaining exceptional image quality in a cloud environment.”

To date, XVWeb has been utilized to capture and store approximately 50 million images from over 3 million patients, underscoring the reliability and scalability of Apteryx’s cloud software solution. LED and Apteryx will be previewing XVWeb 3D during the Chicago Dental Society’s Midwinter Meeting, February 22-24, 2018 in Chicago, IL. Attendees can visit LED & Apteryx in booth 4036 for a demonstration.

“XVWeb 3D will set a new standard for the workflow associated with 3D clinical datasets,” concluded Dr. David Gane, CEO of LED Medical. “The ability to quickly access 3D data from any location at any time without download provides tremendous flexibility and efficiency for both single provider practices and large enterprise organizations with multiple locations. We are excited to provide this new service to our existing and prospective XVWeb customers.”

Based in Akron, OH, Apteryx provides imaging solutions to dental practices and many large-scale dental organizations, including the United States military, government public health clinics and many of the nation’s largest dental support organizations.
