Sybron Dental Specialties, Inc. and Implant Direct International, Inc. announced today that they have entered into a definitive purchase agreement pursuant to which Sybron Dental and Implant Direct will combine their implant and abutment businesses into a single operation to be named Implant Direct Sybron Int’l. The combined business will be led by Dr. Gerald Niznick, president and founder of Implant Direct®.

The acquisition of a majority interest of Implant Direct is subject to the receipt of regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed during the fourth quarter of calendar 2010.
