New York–Dentists say running the business of medicine is difficult and they expect the challenges to heighten, according to a survey by Open from American Express.
Respondents say they find managing the dual role of practicing dentistry and running their business’ to be challenging (83 percent) and that further training in financial management skills would help them with running their practice more efficiently (73 percent).
If they were able to spend less time managing the business of their practice, a majority of respondents said they would use the extra time for non-work activities (71 percent) while others would spend more time with patients (50 percent).
