The Canadian Association of Orthodontists (CAO) Elects New President For 2012-2013

Edmonton orthodontist Dr. Paul Major is the new President of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists (CAO), Canada’s national voice for orthodontic dentistry.

Dr. Major was elected President for 2012-2013 at the CAO’s Annual General Meeting in Ottawa, Ontario. Other members of the Executive are:

President-Elect:            Dr. Garry A. Solomon, Belleville, ON

1st Vice-President:      Dr. Helene Grubisa, Oakville, ON

2nd Vice-President:     Dr. Jean-Marc Retrouvey, Montreal, QC

Secretary/Treasurer:  Dr. Michael Patrician, Toronto, ON

Dr. Major is currently a tenured Professor at the University of Alberta. He has served as the Director of the postgraduate TMD/Orofacial Pain Program from 1991-2001, and as the Director of the Orthodontic Graduate Program from 2001-2010. In January 2010, he assumed the role of Chair of the School of Dentistry.

In addition to his academic career, Dr. Major maintains a busy orthodontic practice in Edmonton, Alberta.
