ASM WELCOME MESSAGE
This year the Ontario Dental Association celebrates its 142nd Annual Spring Meeting, April 30 to May 2, 2009. On behalf of the ODA Education Core Committee it is my honour and pleasure to welcome all dentists and their staff to this exceptional event.
The ASM serves many purposes. It gives us all an opportunity to meet, reconnect and network with people of like minds. It provides an ideal venue in which to involve, educate and foster the bonds of your team.
In the exibitor hall you will have access to the many companies and industries that service our field. Do not miss this opportunity to investigate and see first hand the technology and products now available to us all in one place.
But most importantly, every year the ASM showcases many of the outstanding leaders of our profession. I am proud to say that for 2009 we continue this fine tradition. I am sure you and your staff will discover many diverse and fascinating lectures in which to participate.
I wish to acknowledge and express my gratitude to the ODA staff and to my fellow members of the Education Core Committee, who work tirelessly to make this meeting successful.
It is my great hope that all members, indeed all dentists of Ontario, general and specialists alike, take pride and celebrate this organization.

The Exhibit Floor has been expanded yet again for 2009 to offer 589 booths to over 275 exhibiting companies. These companies will be presenting the latest in dental products and services of interest to the dental team.
Golf Swing Analysis
If you’re a golfer you won’t want to miss the complimentary Golf Swing Analysis during exhibit hours on Thursday and Friday. Swing analysis will be provided by teaching professionals from the Club Link Academy at Glen Abbey Golf Club. You will find the Golf Swing Analysis on the Exhibit Floor at the end of aisle 200.
Handwriting Analysis
Elaine Charel will be back again to amaze you with her assessment of your personality based on your handwriting. She will be on the Exhibit Floor at the end of aisle 1800 on Thursday and Friday during exhibit hours.
Speaker Handouts
We’re continuing our green trend for the 2009 ASM! In 2007 we printed over 260,000 pages of paper for speaker handouts. That equals 15-18 trees. To reduce waste, speakers have been asked to allow us to post their handouts on the ODA website for you to access and print. This worked well at the 2008 ASM, so we are continuing this practice in 2009.
Beginning February 2, 2009 and until June 30, 2009, you will be able to access the ODA Annual Spring Meeting website www.annualspringmeeting.ca and download a pdf of the handout(s) of your choice. As in previous years, not all speakers have agreed to provide a handout.
