FDI is pleased to join with the Canadian Dental Association to present the 2005 FDI Annual World Dental Congress (AWDC) — Canada’s largest dental event in 2005. FDI also welcomes the participation of the Order of Dentists of Quebec in this congress, which will combine CDA’s annual convention and Les Journes dentaires internationales du Quebec. The AWDC is also supported through the promotional efforts of the Quebec Dental Surgeons Association. FDI invites all members of the dental community from around the world to meet in Montreal for this great event.

FDI congresses are internationally recognized events that focus on the latest scientific developments in the world of dentistry.

Oral Health editorial board member Dr. Elliot Mechanic is one of the world-class speakers. Dr. Mechanic will conduct a pre-congress course, ‘Advanced Esthetic Dentistry I and II.’ Oral Health contributing consultant Dr. Yvan Poitras is also participating in the Francophone programme with his lecture, ‘Le contour, le confort, la fonction, la phontique et l’esthtique d’une Rhabilitation implanto-porte.’

Les Quatre Domaines is a 36 hole course, one of the finest Golf Club courses in Qubec, located at the foot of the beautiful Laurentian Mountains.Benefits will be shared by Dentistry Canada Fund, Fondation de l’Ordre des Dentistes du Qubec and FDI Funds.

FDI Scientific Program

The scientific program for FDI Montreal 2005 will feature major symposia on esthetic dentistry, prosthodontics and implantology.

Sessions will focus on periodontology, preventive dentistry, nutrition, endodontics, gerodontology, practice management, pain management, oral surgery, oral medicine, pedodontics, orthodontics and traumatology.

A notable feature of the scientific program will be a series of hands-on, limited attendance courses in several disciplines of dentistry, conducted by eminent experts from Canada, the United States and Europe.

World Dental Exhibition

Another major attraction will be the World Dental Exhibition, showcasing the very latest in dental technology, equipment and products.

Other programs of interest will deal with motivation, sports dentistry, women in dentistry, young dentists, disability and dentistry in developing countries.

Other exciting events include the Opening Ceremony featuring Canadian talent, the Canadian Night showcasing Canadian culture and the Gala Evening atop Mont Royal — Montreal’s namesake mountain, which provides a captivating view of the city. This year’s congress will offer something for everyone.
