The University of Alberta is now offering an elective for fourth-year students to gain valuable in-person experience. The two-week course called Advance Elective Experiences “introduces practice options, encourages students to connect with future colleagues and patients in the community,” according to the U of A School of Dentistry.
Students enrolled in the program can visit private-practice dental offices in the community to gain knowledge on the different practice options available after they graduate. This opportunity will allow students to explore pediatric practices, oral surgery practices, and more, to see which specialty they prefer.
