PracticeWorks Adds the KODAK ORTHOTRAC Sarver Module to its Suite of Practice Management Software

Product Uses Revolutionary Approach to Orthodontic Evaluation, Analysis and Treatment Planning

ATLANTA PracticeWorks, LLC, is the exclusive maker of KODAK Dental Systems, has partnered with David Sarver D.M.D., M.S., to develop the new ORTHOTRAC Sarver Module, designed to help orthodontic clinicians assess both functional and esthetic needs while keeping patient goals and desires in mind. The ORTHROTRAC Sarver Module incorporates facial esthetics into treatment planning and assists orthodontists with a new approach for evaluating and treating patients.

The ORTHOTRAC Sarver Module utilizes two different components, the Sarver Esthetic Evaluation Module and the Sarver Esthetic Analysis Module, to execute facial esthetics treatment. The Sarver Esthetic Evaluation Module is used for databasing during the initial patient examination and utilizes ORTHOTRAC Software to address patient needs, assess functional and esthetic issues, and take facial measurements. The Sarver Esthetic Analysis Module digitizes the macro esthetic, mini esthetic and micro esthetic features of a patients face, further breaking down proportionality. Once the image is digitized, it can be shared with patients and referrals as an educational and treatment supplement. The Sarver Esthetic Evaulation Module is part of Kodak orthodontic imaging software and requires the imaging software and analysis module.

Contemporary improvement of orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning has been making some significant changes in the past decade, stated Dr. Sarver. Todays orthodontic practice has an expanded diagnostic vision resulting in an increase in the complexity of treatment plans. This, along with the increase in interdisciplinary care, has resulted in a need for greater communication between doctor and patient, as well as doctor to doctor.

Integrating the ORTHOTRAC Sarver Module offers clinical benefits such as addressing functional and esthetic issues, recognizing positive attributes of patients aesthetics, and obtaining appropriate medical and legal summaries of findings. One of the goals for the ORTHOTRAC Sarver Module is to help facilitate the change from a doctor-centered practice to a patient-centered practice, and the module helps communicate both smile and facial esthetics to patients in a language they understand. Additionally, the ORTHOTRAC Sarver Module automatically generates letters and reports that help to educate referrals about smile and esthetic treatment goals.

Dr. Sarvers advances in facial esthetics called for a systematic approach to information management that could enhance both patient experience and practice productivity, said Patrik Eriksson, CEO, PracticeWorks. ORTHOTRAC Software is the perfect platform to meet that challenge.

Dr. Sarver, a well-known author and orthodontist, will speak on facial esthetics at the 2010 Orthodontic Users Conference Friday, March 12 to Sunday, March 14. For more information, or to contact a PracticeWorks representative, call (800) 944-6365 or visit www.kodakdental.com.
