Dental School Blogs

Curious as to what dental schools were doing re; blogging and making alumni aware – lo and behold………http://uoftdentistrylibrary.blogspot.com/ which included a great piece on – drum roll please…………In 1911, 100 years ago, Oral Health was founded (Johnson 353). As one of the earliest dental journals, it was born during a time when oral health was not a common concern and dentistry was in the delicate process of professionalizing (Seccombe c 6-7). This was a time when preventive dentistry was a new and rare occurrence (Seccombe c 6-7).

So I decided to do this in a sequence, 1) first find out if there were true dental blogs at any of the Canadian dental schools, 2) find out if they linked one another, its called a WEB for a reason, 3) find out how much clinical information and sharing of cases were present, 4) find out how much multimedia education was online and lastly 5) see how involved pre and post-doctoral students were encouraged to become. The endgame was yet another of the 1000’s of emails Melissa and Catherine receive from yours truly to look at ways and means whereby  Oral Health can be an increasingly dominant educational force in it’s next 100 years.
