THE WHY: Background Story
M City Dental has emerged as a newly opened dental healthcare gem in Mississauga, Ontario. Dr. Mahmoud Manzoor’s practice stands as a testament to a dream realized through years of dedication and commitment. From an early age, Dr. Manzoor felt his destiny lay in a journey toward dentistry. A teenage visit to his orthodontist ignited his interest in health sciences as a career pathway towards helping people. Dr. Manzoor and his brother decided to pursue dental school in their ancestral homeland. With heartfelt enthusiasm, their dedicated parents moved the family to Egypt where they provided the financial support, love, and resources needed to ensure their sons were well taken care of while focusing on their studies. Upon graduation in 2016, the family moved back to Canada. In 2019, Dr. Manzoor excitedly received his licence and was now ready to begin pursuing his entrepreneurial aspirations.
THE HOW: Planning & Preparation
His search for an ideal location began in March 2020. He worked through a plethora of red tape challenges along the way to acquiring this location, while concurrently gaining valuable clinical experience as an associate. It took nearly two years of lease negotiations for the street level unit to be secured. The beautiful practice is in a multi-high rise residential complex called “M City,” with various commercial units located on the ground floor of each building. By November 2022, construction of the design plans was underway. When challenges with the original contractor delayed progress, Dr. Manzoor swiftly brought in a new construction team that was recommended by his entrepreneurial-minded older brother. His brother has been a highly supportive business development mentor. Eventually perseverance and strategic lease negotiations paid off. In February 2022, he not only received the keys to his new office but also to their first new home as well as a brand-new car. This was truly a month to remember from a financial standpoint.
THE RESULTS: Technical Design Features
The letter “M” in M City Dental holds symbolic significance that resonates with Dr. Manzoor’s family tree since that letter also begins the first and last name of several of the Manzoor siblings. The empty, approximately 2700 sq/ft shell was transformed into an ultramodern, contemporary dental practice. The space now boasts six spacious operatories; a stylish, open reception area with dual entries for street and parking garage access; a refreshment bar; a technology tablet table; and lounge seating boasting a boutique hotel vibe. The black and white color scheme accented with moss wall greenery, provides an ideal backdrop for social media promotions. Each operatory features bespoke cabinetry imported from Turkey and large floor-to-ceiling wall murals depicting stunning images from around the world, adding a touch of global flair that welcomes multicultural diversity.
THE IMPACT: Empowered Practice Outcomes
The exciting open house took place in June 2024. Dr. Manzoor’s vision extends beyond the physical walls of his practice. With a strong desire to integrate into the Mississauga community, his team plans to participate in local street vendor events held at Celebration Square behind City Hall. Their commitment to excellence is evident in the practice’s comfort amenities, which include ceiling-mounted TV screens for patient entertainment as well as a Vista Clear water filtration system for optimal hygiene. Moreover, he’s planning on bringing in top surgical specialty talent to aid in providing their patients with advanced multidisciplinary and cosmetic care. M City Dental isn’t just a dental practice – it’s a mission of love, a family-encouraged dream come true. Dr. Manzoor’s meticulous planning and dedication have created a practice that not only provides exceptional dental care but also fosters a warm, welcoming environment for patients and team members alike.
