The Cabinet “has invoked confidentiality in refusing to disclose the overhead cost of a new social program, the Canada Dental Benefit,” reports Western Standard.

The program was passed in November and pays a yearly amount of $650 to families with children under 12 who have a household income under $70,000 a year. There are speculations that the program is quite expensive yet also disqualifies many of the poorest families as all applicants must have filed their taxes the previous year.
