Okanagan College (OC) is receiving $250,000 from BMO to support their Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) program.

This gift will help improve community dental care by allowing more people to become in-demand CDAs. A portion of the donation will given to OC’s dental suite, which is used for training and as a community clinic. The rest will be used to start a pilot program where students can study to become CDAs while working.

This program should allow more people to gain CDA credentials while keeping their jobs to help with the high demand for dental assistants across British Columbia.

“This gift will remove barriers to education and support greater access to quality dental care, helping our employees, our customers and communities we serve,” said John Duff, regional vice president, BC and Yukon Region, BMO.
