Credential Process in Canada Causes Frustration for Internationally Trained Dentists

The Internationally Trained Dentists Association of Canada and members gathered at Yonge-Dundas Square in Toronto to show frustration towards being unable to practice in Canada. The group is made up of dentists who have credentials in their home country but feel they have to go through unfair steps in order to work in Canada.

CityNews spoke with Luca Salvador, who said, “The process that we have to go through, which is called the equivalency process, is long, expensive and just overly burdensome so it can take many individuals three to five years or longer.”

The Association claims the process they have to go through is more intensive than what new graduates from Canada with no experience must do.
