Health Authorities Continue to Recruit Staff for COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign

The health authority that covers the West Island continues to hire vaccinators, administrative assistants and other health-care professionals to work at its vaccination centres.

As Quebec starts vaccinating seniors 85 and older on Monday, nurses, respiratory therapists and midwives are needed to evaluate vaccine recipients before and after a dose has been administered.

“People have to stay for 15 minutes (after vaccination) and we need people monitoring them who can evaluate their medical state in case there’s a reaction,” said Tara Glover, site manager of vaccination for the CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal.
