Oral Science Empowers Dental Professionals at the 2020 PDC!

During the recent Pacific Dental Conference, more than 2,000 dental professionals gathered at the Oral Science booth to discover our innovative Periodontal Protocol based on the new American Academy of Periodontology guidelines.

Our mission is to support dental professionals in creating more predictable clinical outcomes for patients suffering from periodontal disease. We are able to do this by offering a comprehensive protocol, including optimal in-office and home care solutions for every stage and grade of periodontal disease.

Each area of our protocol contains a strong purpose to address the needs of those faced with periodontitis. For example;

  • Curaprox interdental brushes are uniquely designed to fit the interdental space perfectly for each patient
  • Curaprox toothbrushes are made with patented CUREN filaments and regarded as the softest in the world
  • X-PUR Opti-Rinse is an alternative to chlorhexidine as far as inhibiting P. Gingivalis but without the side effects
  • X-PUR Remin is a nano-hydroxyapatite toothpaste which offers antimicrobial properties, protection and relief from tooth sensitivity
  • Cetacaine is a profound and cost-effective non-injectable topical anesthetic liquid
  • X-PUR Crystal is a fast acting in-office desensitizer
  • Photon 3W is a soft-tissue diode laser to aid in disrupting the microscopic biofilm

Our protocol takes into consideration not just the local response to biofilm, but also how patients respond to the bacterial trigger at the systemic level. We know that Periostat has a strong synergetic effect with all other treatments, leading to improved and more predictable clinical outcomes. This adjunct is focused on modulating the host-response through non-antibiotic dose-doxycycline.  Periostat is the only non-surgical treatment (with SRP) recommended by the American Dental Association for the treatment of chronic periodontitis.

We have seen firsthand the sense of confidence and empowerment dental professionals gain by learning how our protocol will lead to creating the optimal patient experience combined with more predictable outcomes, thereby also empowering patients to feel and see the positive impacts of specific treatments.

During the PDC we engaged each and every dental professional that joined our non-stop class room session, by asking “what empowers you” followed by a request to write down a word or statement on what they thought was empowering them on a daily basis. This activity lead to our “Wall of Empowerment. It was overwhelming to see the responses, such as using a soft-tissue diode laser, new knowledge, be the change you want to see in this world. All affirming how important it is for Oral Science to always continue to support dental professionals to make the most positive impact on oral health outcomes.
